Today was an even shorter day than yesterday and there was a possibility of flying out in the afternoon as we were due to arrive at lunchtime in Lukla. It was a cloudy day but ideal trekking temperature, there were a few uphill sections and my shoulder was still giving me issues but otherwise it was a relatively easy day. I also timed it perfectly as it started to rain just as we arrived in Lukla, this was the first time it had rained while trekking for the entire trip so I had been quite lucky with the weather as the only thing worse than putting on dirty clothes each day would have been dirty and wet clothes. I did feel sorry for the trekkers i saw heading out of Lukla in the rain as they were just starting their journey as I can imagine it would be a long day for them.
The negative about it raining was that all the flights from Lukla were cancelled so there was no chance of flight out in the afternoon which meant clean clothes, shower and a proper bed would have to wait for another day.
I spent the rest of the evening in the tea house lounge relaxing as the rain got pretty heavy so it was better to stay indoors. I did decide to treat myself to some alcohol, there was some overpriced Everest beer on offer so I enjoyed that along with a book. I was joined in the lounge by a Scottish couple from Edinburgh and spent the rest of the evening trading trekking stories and drinking some local rum which came in a suspiciously dusty bottle. I think it was around 1am before i actually got back to my room and called it a night, the latest i had stayed up on the trek but with no more trekking to be done it was all good.
